This two-part course will cover the essential information you need to effectively edit fiction.
Part 1 will be devoted to structural editing (e.g. structure, theme, characters, flow). Practical exercises will be included. You will also be given hands-on work to do between the two parts of the workshop.
Part 2 will elaborate on Part 1 and will examine, discuss and analyse the edits, as well as look at elements of manuscript assessments, editorial reports and structural reports. Also covered will be effective author letters and practical tips for working in the industry.
