What's different about indigenous writing? What's involved in mentorship projects? If you've evern wondered, or maybe you're still wondering, mark your calendar for the Society of Editors' next general meeting. Our two speakers are Linda McBride-Yuke and Ellen van Neerven-Currie. Both are trainee editors in the black&write! Indigienous Editing Mentorship Project. Sue Abbey, who established the black&write! editing program, will also be with us. In all, there are six one-day workshop options and they each run from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on Wednesday 7, September:
The concurrent sessions will take place at the Dockside Conference Centre or nearby Star Room venue. At the moment places are available in all workshops but some are filling up fast. Workshops cost $250 for members of an Australian Society of Editors (including associate members). The workshops represent a great opportunity for editors from around Australia to receive further trainin g in specialised areas, in particular: Editing for Museum Exhibitions and Publications; Editing Oral History for Publication; and Indexing for Editors. We can only run these workshops every few years, so do make the most of the opportunity. There are plenty of online specials for discounted accommodation or flights to Sydney in September.
